I first started selling on eBay around 2005, and I have since added selling platforms Poshmark, Mercari, Vinted, Kidizen and Curtsy to my selling repertoire. During these years I have sold thousands of items, including many jewelry and accessory items. Of course trends and fashion tastes have changed over the years, but there’s some tried-and-true styles that always stand the test of time. There’s several popular wool hat styles, and it often just boils down to the buyer’s own style preference. Knowing a hat is made of real wool is already a stamp of quality. Some of the best known wool hat styles are fedoras, cloche, beret and newsboy cap. For shoppers looking for historical costume props, the throwback styles of pork pie, homburg and top hats could be in high demand.

When sourcing scarves, I would only bother with ones made of silk. Silk scarves that are signed by the designer are extra valuable, especially vintage ones.
Modern-day styling of silk scarves includes transforming your silk scarf into a stylish headband, or give your handbag or tote a fashionable upgrade by tying a silk scarf around the handles. Silk scarves also make excellent hair accessories. You can tie a scarf around a ponytail or bun, create a stylish head wrap, or even use it as a hair tie. When listing your scarves, give examples in photos of all these styles to inspire shoppers.
Wool Knit Scarves

Moths are known to be attracted to and can potentially damage wool scarves and other woolen garments by eating holes in them. Moths can enter through small openings, so it’s essential to store your wool scarves in airtight containers. Use vacuum-sealed bags, plastic storage containers with tight lids, or sealable garment bags. This prevents moths from accessing your scarves and laying eggs on them.

If you follow fashion on social media, you have surely seen the famous Gucci belts with the double GG buckle. The double GG buckle design is instantly recognizable and has become a status symbol in the fashion industry. Due to the immense popularity of these belts, counterfeit versions have flooded the market. Make sure you are authenticating your items to avoid getting in hot water for unknowingly selling a fake.

According to the Poshmark trend report, wide belts are back in style and selling quickly. Look for both classic styles made of high quality materials, and then also fun and funky styles that make a statement.

One Posher told me: “Belts sell well, usually leather and have a unique factor, sometimes vintage.” Accessories made of genuine leather are always a sign of quality and will hopefully last over time.

When posting these for sale, make sure to have a mannequin or a human model how the chain belts hangs and looks on.

Wolford Tights
Wolford is a renowned luxury brand that specializes in high-quality hosiery, including tights. These tights sell for about $100 full price, so you can make a good sale on a pair in great condition. Make sure to check that there’s no holes or runs in the stockings.

Agent Provocateur is a renowned luxury lingerie brand that also offers a range of hosiery, including stockings, tights, and socks. Known for their seductive and sophisticated designs, Agent Provocateur hosiery combines quality craftsmanship, exquisite materials, and attention to detail.
Vintage Pantyhose
A Poshmark seller told me: “I do really with new vintage pantyhose.”
This was a big surprise to me and I asked these follow-up questions: “Wow! I never would have guessed that! Do you know what kind of demographic is buying them? Is it older women or a trend with Gen Z?”
